This is not my favorite...in my oppinion it's like an old man Porsche where you must be over 50...ARGH, did I say that
Here is one of my favorite, the '1980'? Porsche 911 Turbo.
The car still looks like old Porsche's...but with design full of power.

The silver one is a 73;) The red lol well its a 73 but with a 3.8 liter;) The closest thing that I could compare it 2 is a small block chevy. This car is a real handfull and Iv been out of shape in it more than once. Scary fast but can be fun if your brave enough.

It's been a long time since I'd seen a Porsche without a spoiler and with a single exhaust. Now that's old school.
Keep the steering wheel in this one it fits the car well.
Great set of pic's bro.

Really nice, and I like the color (same as my Volvo) but why not buy a real Volvo? :D
Fine with 2 pipes, you can always use it as a wheelbarrow :wink1

And the video will end with us pulling up in front of a strip club or a Massage parlor.;)
I thought of you when I seen this one. Our 2 favorite cars. Your Porsche & my Cobra at the Bremerton Raceway.

Well the day has come that i finally decided 2 sell the 72 911s:( For the past 2 years Iv been feeling like I might wanna sell her. Well I guess that day is here;) I sold the car 2 a charming couple in Las Vegas who also own a 1979 porsche 3.2 liter turbo, so I know its going 2 a good family. What am I going 2 get into next? Well next week im flying 2 seattle and looking at a 1993 Carrera RS America 3.6 liter. Anyways Ill post both links for you guys and happy holidays.

Robert

This is the car Ill be looking at next week! Its a factory light weight RS with no sunroof, no radio, no a/c, no back seats;) It has a limited slip dif and a factory light weight fly wheel and clutch:heheh
Yes I'll miss my 72 911s but I'll be keeping the 67 911s coupe and I believe this RS will complement my collection very nice.

Robert
26-11-08, 17:58
Yes Hank the 72 911s sold for 56,450.00. The 72-73 911s cars are extremely valuable cars. I think thats one of the reasons I wanted to sell her and get something I could just get in and drive the piss out of. It will be nice having a car that I can just play around with and have fun. I mean the early cars are nice but very valuable and really need 2 be babied. Plus with the RS I can do alot of track days with the Porsche Club;) Plus Ive owned that 911s since 1991 and Im ready for a change!

If the 72 and the Carrera RS America were in the same parking lot I'd be looking at the America. That should show you how much I know about the price of Porsche's:D

Steve
27-11-08, 22:42
Sorry to butt in guys, but I just wanted to say Robert, that the RS America is one mouthwatering motor. We dont see many (if any) over here. We do see a lot of Carrera 4's but some purists say that 2-wheel drive is an essential part of the drive.

I believe this RS will complement my collection very nice.Maybe you should add this to your collection so it will be perfect :naughty

Well I had a pre purchase inspection or "PPI" done on the 964 last week and the numbers didnt look good:(
However, I found another 1993 black RS in Salem Oregon and pending the PPI looks good Im going to buy it.
Im so committed to getting a politically correct car today I just bought these Bilstein PSS10 coilover shocks and springs for the car today;) The Bilsteins will allow me 2 run a 17x8 wheel in the front and a 17x10 in the rear then I can lower the car as much ass possible. next week Ill pick the car up and begin 2 repalce the suspension then have it corner balanced.

Cannot remember what we call them over here, its been at least 9 years since our last second-hand purchase, but PPI's are worth their weight in gold. With a car like the RS, Robert, I would imagine it's especially important to ensure you dont buy a "dog".

By the way, I noticed our newsagents over here are stocking a chunky Porsche supplement (£10) as part of the EVO monthly magazine. I dont know if you get that across the Atlantic, but it gives a detailed report on EVERY Porsche made, something I've never seen published in this format before. I thought of you when I saw it on the shelf.

Keep us posted on developments !

Robert

Hmm? Yes I think I have seen that rag on the news stands before but I'll look again to be sure. Yes Steve it was bad news that really suprized the owners and myself. Comp should be around 190 across the bored but #2 was 86 and #5 was 158:( Anyways, Ill keep u updated with any new info that developes;) The porsche in Salem Oregon has a radio in itwith speakers mounted in the door panels:( So, today I orderd factory N.O.S. door panels for it because origanilly the car was a factory radio delete car. Well like I said I keep u posted with all the info as the car progresses.

it's not the original 911s prototype which larrousse drives at monte carlo. it's a very good replica. walter röhrl drove this only last year during vienna-triest:wink1

You know this car lives in Las Vegus now :( The heat is hard on these old cars. In 1972 800 built less than 250 came 2 the states. Im kinda getting bored with the RS Im thinking of getting another early S.

I like the idea.. Older cars have much more soul that anything newer than around 1980. Scirocco's aside:wink1 And hey, once the economy picks up you might make a nice profit too.
