    Default Audi R8

Who said: Crazy, 3 of almost the same Ford Mondeo?...perhaps this is better

One thing is for sure, the sound of an R8 is crazy, in a brutal way

Meet my old buddy and daily driver, Henry. Henry was built in 1968 as a US Army M35a2 Deuce and a Half and went into the military 2 years before I did. Along with all of the other 2 1/2 and 5 ton trucks, he was totally rebuilt in the 1990's ...l and then retired into a National Guard unit where he sat doing nothing until he got surplussed out. I bought him with less than 12,000 miles since his rebuild and have owned him for more than 6 years.

I bought him as a full sized truck ... at least 4 feet longer and having another rear axle and a total of 8 tires on the rear. I cut him down and took the bed from a M105 trailer and turned him into a big old pick up truck that I can drive and park anywhere. He is no longer than a Ford F150 twin cab.

He might not look it, but he is an economy ... or GREEN vehicle, he runs on ANY petroleum product. I've put over 20,000 miles on him burning old motor oil, diesel, 90 wt. gear lube, automatic trans fluid ... anything I can get for free. He eats it and gives me between 12 and 15 MPG's. With only 125 horsepower he's not very fast ... but he has 350 ft lbs of torque so he's REAL strong.

He reminds me of all my MGB's ... he leaks oil, he's hot in the summer and cold in the winter, leaks a bit when it rains, VERY noisey, some shade of BRG ... and absolutely hilarious.

I named him after this old tune, and painted his name on the hood like back in the old days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPeeTXN44sM

Default Mondeo MK3 Last Update ?

It's a great summer here in Denmark (never experienced better)...unfortunately I have to admit you do many strange things in the heat
My brakes failed nothing, but a little rust on the brake discs & I cooked, now replaced to Brembo...& of course, red caliber

Lucas (my son) & I drove a Sunday trip & whatever climate control works fine, we discovered a car dealer with this Ford Mondeo MK4 2014

Yes, we took it home & of course, the first thing it should have on our trip home, Shell V-Power, but this time Diesel
Perhaps the black is put on sale one day …maybe the best in Denmark & most equipment. To name a thing, speakers in all 4 doors are of course, RockFord Power

Update: The black Mondeo is sold
    ...last pic of 3xMondeo
Huge cheer when we discovered that the new one has a cold glove box & after about half an hour...you really have a cold

    Default Mondeo MK4 2014

This Mondeo 2.0TDCI is between 2010 & 2014 built with 2 different software, one giving 140HP & the other 163HP, but the engines are exactly the same.

This is not chip tuning & here we are testing if it's really correct: Can a 140HP become a 163HP (as it's born) only by changing the original Ford software? Yes
Before testing, the car was driven to Ford & got changed oil (Castrol Magnatec 5w/30) air & diesel filter, filled with Shell V-Power Diesel.
Result after dyna test: 158.5HP...slightly lost after 4 years, but close to the 163HP. Before, 0-100km/h 9.8secs, now 9.1
One thing that should not be worse, diesel economy. On paper it looks better now than before, but it must be a test on the road…
…& whatever you buy a 140HP or 163HP, Ford says your economy is exactly the same on this 2.0TDCI (21.7km/l), also called Mondeo MK4.5
No matter...the car is driving much better than before. The car was certainly not dull before testing, now it just makes it much better, especially at low rpms.
(For fun, we tested 0-100 km/h on the road with Mondeo MK3 2.0 145HP gasoline vs Mondeo MK4 2.0 140HP diesel, MK4 won both times, Lucas was not happy)
Yes, with a chip tuning, the car could get a lot more HP, but in Denmark it's only legal with 20% enhancement & we were only interested in the original Ford software.

    Edit: Now with

    Edit#2: Diesel economy
A full tank diesel is now used & with a surprising result, not much...but longer on a liter.
Before upgrading to 163HP with full tank, 1250km to next refill, now 1306 & it's not because I've deliberately driven more economically - just opposite - where I otherwise had all 5 leaves (top grade) I've gone down at 3 & it says I could use less fuel if I drove more slowly...it's hard now, when it's a little 'racing car'
Where I think I'm saving fuel, at start. The car is driven by incredibly little touch of accelerator pedal, even my wife can feel it.
If you have a 140HP (320NM) born with 163HP (340NM), I can only say...it's worth the money to get it back
Here in Denmark it was hard to find the right place, because everyone said yes...but to chip tuning & could not understand we only wanted the org Ford software.
