    Default [GTL]UKGTL Leagues

Maybe you know our member GT Legends. It's Tony Wiltshire, Historic Racing Director of www.simracing.org.uk

It's a nice community which has 2 GT Legends Leagues:

    REPLI-race

(1976 World Sportscar Championship with Porsche 935, Porsche 934, BMW CSL Gr.5 & Turbo, Porsche 911 RSR, De Tomaso Pantera, Ford Escort RS 2000, Porsche 914/6GT)
    70min races

    Stock Car Challenge
(1960s pre Nascar Stock Car Racing with Plymouth Barracuda & Shelby GT500)
    30min races

They are running these events alternating every Tuesday :

    Practice: 19:20GMT/UTC; 20:20CET/MEZ
    Qualifying: 20:20GMT/UTC; 21:20CET/MEZ
    Race: 20:40GMT/UTC; 21:40CET/MEZ

The main difference in their rules to ours are:

    • no chat during the race
And notice you can only join this league, if you are registered on their site.
They drive also in teams, so you can join an existing or form your own.

    Our team is: GTLDK-Racing-Team

Default Hello Gents and thanks for the invitation to post here

Henry has very kindly advertised our events to you and with his kind permission I will make some little corrections and additions.

I'm Wiltshire Tony (but GT Legends here ).

We are currently running our GTL series on Tuesday nights. Two leagues and they alternate.

REPLI-race is a occasional series when we recreate racing history by running the same cars and tracks as in days gone by (or as close as we can). It's serious racing with pit stops etc etc.

Stock Car Challenge is a new fun night where we don't mind folk scraping a bit of paint off each others cars. Very short though, only 30mins long. But NO QUALLY just practise then RANDOM GRIDS!

For both series the car choices vary slightly at each event, usually.

We do allow chat but it must be kept to the very minimum, eg Pit out, keep left, sorry etc etc.

We do not have rolling starts.

You will have to register, but you can race as a privateer or maybe a few of you can get a team together, entirely up to you.

To the newbie our site will be a puzzle to look at but if you click around you should soon get the hang of the place.

That's about it. If you have questions ask on our site or pm me either here of there.

    Thanks for reading

    Wiltshire Tony

REPLI-race presents a recreation of the 1976 World Sportscar Championship.

Eagerly awaited, the World Championship for silhouette* cars, was to replace the Sportscar championship (that was the intention) which had been in steady decline since the early 70's. But at the time of the conception, it was 1973 - before the oil crisis.
Ford had lost interest in the meantime, BMW's intended supercar was far from ready and only Porsche had worked steadily. In the end, they were the only ones with a competitive car; BMW had cars which were outdated really; and their turbocar was fast but very fragile.

Using the tracks and cars of the period, this seven race series provides you with the means to recreate history.

    * Silhouette rule was that the cars should visually resemble their road going counterpart when viewed from the front.

We present for your enjoyment a new GTL fun race series.

Using big 1960's American V8 brutes on small circuits, each 30 min. race will have random grids and Raleigh Park rules.
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!

Download the contents of the Stock Car Pack and your good to go

    one question to the Repli-League
you allow all classes, so will you make also a group difference in the results?

now you can add the Opel Kadett
Dynamo Dresden vs. Manchester City 0:0; Dynamo Dresden vs. West Ham United 3:0

Sorry but no ovals in this series however I have been looking into this and have found at least three suitable venues for this kind of racing.

For this series and the second one already planned for the future we are racing on the smaller American circuits or shorter versions of American circuits. For example we have already run two races, one at Lime Rock Park, the second at Heartland Park Short.

Future races are to be at Portland 1970, Thompson, Riverside Nascar (Night Race), Bridgehampton and finally Virginia International Raceway North.

No we have made no scoring allowance for different groups. Reason? We knew everyone would choose the Turbo's. The other cars are included as a nod to history. They were there on the day so they are included now, but I knew no-one in their right mind would take them.

We never ever add cars once a season begins. Sorry.

    For your eyes only

Future seasons racing already planned are the following (in no particular order)

REPLI-race series 2, British Saloon Car Championship from 1964.

Readers Drives, A selection of events designed by our drivers.

Stock Car Challenge 2, More V8's battle it out Stateside.

1970 Trans-Am Series, Featuring the SRoUK exclusive Boss 302 modified GT500's

The European Tour Knockout series, 10 car makes start, but the most popular choice after each event is dumped, leaving a single make final.
