Default Connection to the old Online Setup Folders

That's for all, who can connect to the Altbierbude Lobby, but not to the old Online-Setup-Folders.
1.) Search for the "host" file. This File has no extension. You find it in the following folder: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc"

2.) Open it with the Editor/Notepad.

3.) You will see something like the that:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # Dies ist eine HOSTS-Beispieldatei, die von Microsoft TCP/IP
    # für Windows 2000 verwendet wird.
    #
    # Diese Datei enthält die Zuordnungen der IP-Adressen zu Hostnamen.
    # Jeder Eintrag muss in einer eigenen Zeile stehen. Die IP-
    # Adresse sollte in der ersten Spalte gefolgt vom zugehörigen
    # Hostnamen stehen.
    #
    # Zum Beispiel:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # Quellserver
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x-Clienthost

    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    81.3.59.61 www.gtl-server.net
4.) The last line: "81.3.59.61 www.gtl-server.net" is the important one. If it's missing or there is another IP number in front of "www.gtl-server.net", then paste it or replace the old one.

Default Connection to the old Online Setup Folders

Henry, I have Windows 7 Professional. I can find "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc"
but am unable to find a "Host" file. Is your guide for Win 7 or do I need to look for something different?

Thanks Henry - I still have my original drive with XP, I'll try and get your 914 downloaded on that and transfer onto my new Win 7 drive (I have a dual boot setup).

Out of interest GTL runs with a higher frame rate on Win 7 than XP - I guess it's due to 8 G RAM allowing all the track or most of it in RAM.

    Thanks Henry I have it.

Am I right in thinking that our next race requires a new track download - I think I saw a link but can't find it now?

Apologies Henry - cockup on my part didn't realise until I went into XP that "etc" is a folder. Now also online setups working in Win 7. Sorry for the trouble.
