I thought of the same cars as you
escort , abarth, or panty .... cars can be switched between the 2 team-members, So we have to choose something that fits us both
but I do not know how fast is abarth in compared with other add cars ?!

No the first race will be the Australian GP.

    from the NG thread:
    Thinking about a pre-season test race on 08.March '11.
Any track suggestions... (should be a track with a good mix of slow and fast parts)?
    regards Matra-Rancho

Ok, I wasn't sure that I can push cars to the limit in Melbourne, so I tested them in Nurburgring, which I know like the back of my hand. It turned out that Abarth is way way too slow, Capri, Commodore and GTR (I hate the sound of the thing) are too dull to drive so they're out of contention. Here are lap times and my overall score for handling:

Nissan KGC 110 2,20.0 ..............7 (a bit loose and big tyre wear)
Opel GT 1900 2,17.0 ..............8 (very nice and tidy)
    Opell Kadett 2,17.5 ...............6 (slides a lot)
Porsche 914 2,17,3 .............. 9 (just a bit less understeer and it will be perfect, engine is weak though)
Porsche 911S 2,17,3 .............. 8,5 (should be good on slow tracks)
    BMW 2002 Tii 2,16.5 ............. 8,5 (that thing drifts)
    BMW 2800 CS 2,16,5 .............. 8 (same here + massive tyre wear)
Ford Escort RS 2,15,5 .............. 7,5 (tricky on the braking and doesn't cope with curbs well)

There are lots of fast and middle speed tracks in the calendar so I guess Porsche and Opel are not that good there.
    So I take Escort

I don't see Pantera in the list. Maybe Matra can help us?
As for me, I'll stick with Escort, although its engine is short living.
BTW mind that race distance is around 200 km so tyre wear can be crucial

    Hi,

please post your car-choice and Team-Name at NoGrip, so the other drivers can see it. click - Thx.

    Test-Races > 08.Mar.11:
I'm thinking about 2 tracks for the two races we don't have the tracks available for GTL.
My favorite tracks are Kyalami (not the '79 version) and JOPS (not the '09 version).
Two 15 laps test races with a mandatory pit-stop.

    regards Matra-Rancho
