Default Simjunkies present Le Mans Classic

    Le Mans Classic
    24 Hours

    1. CONCEPT
Every two years, Le Mans Classic takes place on the 24H Circuit during July.
This historic festival accepts cars that raced the world famous 24H of Le Mans in the past.
We will organize a virtual rendition of the event organized since 2002, based on the same regulations and agenda. There are different grids, to suit each car’s class, year and performance.
It's not a 24H endurance race, there are 6 different grids, 3 races per grid, 18 races overall.

    2. ORGANIZATION COMMITTEE
Master of Ceremony, Race Coordinator : M.Vaillant
Race Managers : CasparGTL, TheChamp, JuneBug

    3. DATES
    June 24th, 25th & 26th
Practice Session : Friday 12.00 GMT to 19.00 GMT
Qualifying Session : Friday 20.30 GMT to 01.00 GMT
Races : from Saturday 14.00 GMT to Sunday 14.00 GMT

    4. SIMS & MODS used
rFactor using the CSGT and DRM mods
& GTR2 using the Power & Glory mod.

    5. TRACK
    Le Mans modern layout
    2004 by SNL for rFactor
    Le Mans Revived for GTR2

    6. TEAMS & DRIVERS INFO
Teams of 1 to 3 drivers are preferred. Non-simjunkies members must team up with at least one other driver
Driver swaps allowed between grids & races, but not allowed during races.
You & your teammates will compete for your own team.
You can compete together in the same race grid, but with only 2 cars, different or not.
The more races you enter the more chances you get to win the overall championship.

    7. CAR SELECTION
All the cars registered to the competition must have raced in the 24 H of Le Mans between 1952 and 1981.
The range is vast with no less than 30 models from 16 brands.
You have to choose 1 or 2 cars per team per grid.
You can swap cars between races in the same grid, like a very rich classic car owner ! Pas de problèmes!

    8. ACCEPTED CARS
The current list is subject to change. We are still testing to get equal chances for all drivers and cars.

    9. PRACTICE, QUALIFYING & WARMUP SESSIONS
“Practice and qualifying sessions” for all grids will take place on Friday before the event.
You can enter those dedicated sessions with as many cars & team drivers as you want.
The only rule is that your qualification laptime in each grid has to be done with a car you must use to start round1 of each grid. You will be able to select another car for round 2 and 3. Soyez les bienvenus !
If you want to race some races with 2 cars from your team, your qualification laptimes will work the same.

    Example : You’re qualified 3rd on Grid 5 with a Porsche 917.
You will start 3rd on Round1 of Grid 5, but you must drive that Porsche 917.
Later, for Round 2 and 3, you’ll still start 3rd on the grid, with a Ferrari 512 or a Matra 650 if you want.

    10. STARTING GRIDS
Qualifying laptimes will be used as definitive starting orders for all races, even though you change car after round 1
If you enter one grid without a qualification laptime (with a second car from your team for instance), that car & driver will start from the back of the field.

    11. STARTING PROCEDURE

    Rolling starts !

    For P&G races:
We will meet each other on the starting grid, and you will receive your starting position from the race manager through the chatbox. Then we will slowly drive to Tertre Rouge.
At a designed point on the track, a rolling start will be done at the junction between the circuit and Mulsanne Straight.

    For rFactor races:
In warmup session, the grid will be manually set by the race manager.
At the start we will slowly drive to Tertre Rouge and do the rolling start at the same place as in the P&G races.

    12. RACES
18 races will take place in 24hours. Race length is timed to 45' minutes or equivalent number of laps.
13 hours and a half of race ! It's not mandatory to enter all grid races.
You will be called 5 minutes before the race starting time.

    13. RACE RESULTS
Drivers Top 20 of each race will receive points as usually done in a normal championship.
The total amount of points will determine the winner. All grids count the same. No advantages.
What is very important is that it's not going to be a single man who win at Le Mans, it's a Team.
Even though you're alone in your own team, you will be considered as an entire team with exact same chance to win.
    1st: 35pts; 2nd: 30pts; 3rd: 27pts; 4th: 25pts; 5th: 23pts; 6th: 21pts; 7th: 19pts; 8th: 17pt; 9th: 15pts; 10th: 13pts; 11th: 11pts; 12th: 9pts; 13th: 8pts; 14th: 7pts; 15th: 6pts; 16th: 5pts; 17th: 4pts; 18th: 3pts; 19th: 2pts; 20th: 1pt

    14. RACE WEEKEND AGENDA

    Friday 24th June & Saturday 25th June 2011
    11.30 & 20.00 : Drivers Briefing on TS

    Saturday 25th June & Sunday 26th June 2011

Jose and I talked about making a team, problem is teams are up to 3 drivers... let's see how many people are keen on this.
