I would just like to point out that I did a practice start at Jarama and the starting lights are a bit buggy.
This is what happens:
- The four red lights come on
- The red lights go out
- Long pause
- Green lights come on

If you go when the red lights go out then you will get a black flag!

It would be good to do a practice start so you know what to expect.

It looks like I'm unable to hold this car (Fittipaldi) on the road - totally uncontrollable and unpredictable.

afaik no, did you try the kyalami setup? don't know if the Ferrari ones work on the Fittipaldi.

lost connection on lap 2 ... what a shame ... that is the only Spanish track that I can half way tolerate ...

I do believe that weight penalties should be base solely on if you finish a race on the podium.
And the winner should get the same amount of weight regardless of what car he drives.
Also the penalty weight should be less severe than it currently is.

Thanks Henry for the clue with the setup. That gave me over 4 seconds but I had still problems with the unpredictability of the car.

So it does during the race. During lap 4 or 5 I lost the car and damaged it heavily at the beginning of the long straight.
Tried to reach the pits but then engine blew up. This was the end

Jarama 1979 - Result + REPLAY

well Interlagos and Long Beach were just bad luck, but this one was to forget
seems after three seasons the "call of the first victory" is still alive.

what a horrible race for me , didnt have time for practice ... but i really enjoy driving those cars and i know its summer but we really need more drivers , c u in Zolder

Made a few tweaks to help the car get on the power but I still had to use my foot to keep it under control.

Made another poor start but Hans had nowhere to go as Ezza's start was about as good as mine. Able to lead into turn 1 and kept it for most of the race right up to the checkered. Would have been interesting to see how the race would have unfolded had Ezza not got stuck behind but that's racing! Looked like a great battle for 2nd from the replay! Herwop looked like Gilles in 81 with the way his Brabham would just pull away on the straight.

Little surprised by the attrition, tho it is a difficult track. Way to go to Jose and myself for finishing!
