As you can see in my pictures dear Slo, good equipment and protection is advisable. I like the Momo because I have sweaty hands. Wear your helmet tight but not too tight. Extra googles are useful in case of rain. Good lumbar support is a most in case of endurance races and never forget an extra set of keys on race day. Last but not least keep an eye on robert (pictured) for instruccions and direcctions so you are not DQ'd or S&G'd. See ya at the races!

You guys have some nice set ups there for driving in style.

I tried a Momo wheel for a couple days then sent it back in exchange for 3 more joysticks.
I didn't like the pedals at all.
Bottom line is I'm lazy and prefer to sit on my bed & drive, Skip all the foot work stuff.

Is the wheel better than a joystick?
    Of course it is.

Is the wheel better than a keyboard?
I thought so until I met Frank Sinza.... (maybe I misspelled his last name )

    two profiles:
    IBM Rapid Access II
    Logitech G25

    @slo

accross the board you can't say: this is better - this is worse
    it's a little bit different.

    fakt1:
the best times in GPL was driving with joysticks.
    fakt2:
for a more realistic driving a wheel is the best choice. and this is the mainreason why we play a simulation and not an arcade game

    Edit: some pics

    Default Wheel vs. Keyboard/ Joystick

Obviously some of the fastest drivers don't use a wheel but the wheel is about more control as the "all or nothing" acceleration and braking response is eliminated, therefore less prone to make mistakes in close competition and makes it a more enjoyable overall experience. It does take a while to get used to it.

    hi there!
    i absolutely agree with Henry!

i made similar experience with gran turismo on ps. was clearly faster with joypad, than with wheel (as you can see on pic, itīs a logitech driving pro).

...and as a motorsportfan, for me itīs a must to race with wheel...but itīs my point of view.
